Bacchus-Browne worried for policewoman’s safety
The policewoman who accused Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves of raping her is walking the beat again, and her lawyers are concerned.{{more}}
One of the womanâs attorneys, Kay Bacchus-Browne, said that a letter was sent on Monday, March 17, to Commissioner of Police Keith Miller, pointing out these concerns.
âI am worried for her safety, in the midst of all the politics associated with this case, to have her on the beat. I am concerned,â said Bacchus-Browne.
She also informed SEARCHLIGHT that they had planned to appeal Justice Gertel Thomâs ruling.
On Tuesday, March 4, Justice Gertel Thom said that she found âno arguable grounds for a reviewâ of the decision of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) to discontinue rape charges against Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves.
âWe are very confident. There are at least 20 grounds for appeal,â said Bacchus-Browne, when she spoke to SEARCHLIGHT earlier this week.
The appeal should have been filed yesterday. (KJ)
