On Saturday, January 26, Campbell and his family were surprised when the Digicel entourage ventured in a tour bus with a siren and loud speaker to his home at Upper Cane Hall and announced him as the grand prize winner of the “Buy your dreams with Digicel This Christmas” grand prize winner.

In disbelief, the 62-year old admitted that he had to pinch himself to see if he was dreaming, but when the realization hit him as he received his cheque, he jokingly said, “I will have to get a bigger pocket.”

When asked what his plans with his new earnings were, the father of six humorously said, “Married men don’t make those decisions. I am only the recipient. Mrs. Campbell will be the spender.”

Then, on a serious note, the lawyer, who is also the host of the TV programme entitled, “The Law and You”, said that a substantial amount would go towards the education of his children. He also pledged to donate some to charities such as the Salvation Army School Feeding programme and the Society for Persons with Disabilities, among others. Campbell thanked the Creator for blessing him and his family and also Digicel for the opportunity to be $50,000 richer, and in show of gratitude said that a celebratory dinner will be thrown.

Campbell also pointed out that, ironically, Public Relations Manager for the Eastern Caribbean, Jerry George, was the last person he saw when he read the newspapers before going to bed and now he was the first person he saw that fateful morning.

George then congratulated Campbell and noted that Digicel would continue to give back to their customers while bringing a sense of excitement to this country.

Digicel’s Cooperate Sales Representative Brenda Barbour said that she was happy that one of her clients was the lucky recipient of the grand prize and said that this only proved that post paid customers also get chances to win fantastic prizes.

Digicel’s Marketing Manager Juno De Roche pointed out that all of the 60,232 numbers that were entered in the draw were anonymous, and the lucky number was picked by Lesha Neverson of the auditing firm KPMG.

She congratulated Campbell and his family and assured Digicel customers that they could “Expect More” and will “Get More” for the New Year.
