For the sixth year, Cable & Wireless has demonstrated that they are a good corporate citizen and have again given out food packages to the needy and less fortunate throughout St Vincent and the Grenadines.{{more}}

“Over the years, we have increased the numbers of packages, and it brings joy to my heart when someone’s life is touched in such a positive way. We are also appealing to other corporate entities to join in this worthwhile venture, since there are many other needs that can be indentified”, said Sandra Matthews, Vice President of Human Resources.

Cable & Wireless began its campaign on Tuesday and will continue throughout the week, touching over 30 communities on mainland St. Vincent, and several villages on the islands on Bequia, Canouan and Union Island. Over 300 food packages will be distributed during this campaign.

Chief Executive Angus Steele will join the rest of the staff during the week and will witness first hand the joy that Cable & Wireless will bring to the faces of the recipients. Steele, in quoting Churchill, says “we make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give”. He stressed that his first outing was an “eye opener” for him and pledged his continued support for the programme and looks forward to expanding it in the future.
