Government to review VAT

Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Dr Ralph Gonsalves has agreed to review the implementation of the Value Added Tax (VAT) as it relates to accommodation and transportation components.{{more}}

According to a release from the Hotel & Tourism Association, Prime Minister Gonsalves made this commitment during his annual Budget Consultation meeting with the St Vincent and the Grenadines Hotel & Tourism Association. The Prime Minister, the release said, also agreed to review the issue of VAT on Service Charge.

The members of the SVG Hotel & Tourism Association expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the consultation and the importance of private public sector dialogue and partnership in the overall approach to tourism development, management and marketing of the SVG tourism product.
