Young cast to debut with ‘Deception’
The newest addition to the recently renamed National Commercial Bank Theatre Arts Festival, Urban Expression Theatre, is aiming to bring a new flavour to this yearâs season.{{more}}
The group, which is a subsidiary to the Urban League Sports, Culture and Social Organisation, hails from the Ottley Hall/Edinboro communities, with a predominantly young membership base.
The nine-member cast promises to enhance the quality of performance in this yearâs festival with its production – âDeceptionâ.
Saturday, November 3, is the date slated for the clubâs debut performance, with a repeat scheduled for Sunday, November 4.
The piece which presents the perverted situation of crooked professionals and DECEIVED clients is expected to be a hit.
Also âA-listedâ for performances are the La Gracia Dance Company, Naked Roots, poet Debra Providence, Aloma âGospel Danâ Cadougan and pannist Jomo Francis.
The production forms part of the Theatre Arts Festival produced by the Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with the National Commercial Bank, in which a total of five groups will participate.
