Family Planning Week to focus

The National Family Planning Programme will be focusing on Men’s Health for this year’s Family Planning Awareness Week.{{more}}

The week will be held from the 18th to 23rd November, 2007, under the theme “Healthy Men, Healthy Families.”

The objectives of the week are to create awareness among men about the importance of healthy living; to promote prostate screening as a preventative measure in the fight against prostate cancer; to promote a forum for discussion on issues of men’s health and to provide the opportunity for men forty-five and over to have prostate screening done in order to identify early changes in the prostate gland and to allow for necessary interventions.

The National Family Planning Programme is hoping to make this week a landmark achievement in men’s health in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
