CSME delegation from Barbados to visit SVG
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Commerce and Trade will host a delegation from the Barbados-based Unit of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy – CSME, from October 29th to 31st.{{more}}
The visiting delegation will hold consultations with public and private sector officials, including representatives of the local Chamber of Commerce, under the theme âDoing Business within the CSMEâ. These consultations will be preceded by an opening ceremony which will be addressed by Foreign Affairs, Commerce and Trade Minister, Sir Louis Straker, on Monday, October 29th, at the Ministryâs Conference Room.
The CSME team will âMeet the Pressâ at 8.45 on the morning of Tuesday, October 30th, at a briefing which will involve Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Commerce and Trade Sir Louis Straker, and officials of the Ministry of Trade. This will be broadcast live on radio.
A rally for 5th form students from across the island is planned for later that day at the Arnos Vale Playing Field. Some six (600) hundred students are expected to attend. A presentation will also be made to students of the Union Island Secondary School on Wednesday, October 31st.
The CARICOM Single Market and Economy is aimed at benefiting the people of the region by providing more and better opportunities to sell goods and services and to attract investment, and is seen as an advancement in the Caribbean Integration process.
