The books were handed over to newly installed Headteacher of the school, Hyacinth Harry, at a brief ceremony last week Friday.
Spanning a variety of topics and target groups, the collection of the books was the culmination of a campaign conducted by members of the Association among elementary and high schools in the boroughs of Florida.
It was the efforts of former Headtecher of the school, Orde Ballantyne, that made the handing over ceremony a reality.
Harry, in thanking the Association, said that the books could not have come at a more opportune time, as they will assist in fortifying the schoolâs literacy programme.
The school, which has a population of 812 students, has as one of its focus areas, to lift the reading level of the students.
Presenting the books was Canute Myers, one of the local coordinators of the Association.
Myers, Leroy Latchman and Cyprian Neehall are those who do the ground work here on behalf of the Association.
