C&W hosts execs cocktail

Soon to be local Chief Executive of telecommunications provider Cable & Wireless Foster Hannaway, has reassured clients that great things are in store for them, and promised continued world class service and long lasting, stronger relationships.{{more}}

Hannaway was speaking at an executive cocktail party hosted by Cable and Wireless, at Grenadine House last week Thursday.

The acting CEO said that the executive team, most of whom were at the function, were focused on enriching the day to day experience, with quality products and services.

During his speech, Hannaway touched on a number of recent accomplishments by the company, including the reduced mobile rates and increased broadband speed.

He also touched on the Network Operations Centre (NOC) opened in Barbados three weeks ago, which monitors and detects potential faults on the Cable and Wireless fixed, mobile and Broadband networks across the region.

He mentioned the Next Generation Network (NGN) which will be introduced here in St. Vincent this month.

This network integrates voice, data and video from a single transport medium and will enable users to install new applications rapidly.

According to Hannaway, his company is seeking approval to have a flat charge for residential domestic calls.

Hannaway said that the company remains committed to the growth of technology in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and is doing its best to see that goal accomplished. (JJ)
