Until now, viewers have had the opportunity to select two finalists from each of the eight countries in the Eastern Caribbean that they believe could be the next Digicel Rising Star.

Now the competition heats up even further as the talent, temperament and guts of the contestants get further tested in front of a live audience.

Vincentian Kyron Baptiste is the reigning Digicel Rising Star, but the contenders to his title have now separated themselves from the pack, and competition is expected to be fierce from the word go.

“Rising Stars makes stars out of previously unknown talents,” said Errol McGlothan, Digicel’s Marketing Director for the Eastern Caribbean. “We are looking forward to finding out where the next Rising Star will come from?”

“The region’s favorite television show is once again offering an extraordinary opportunity for talented singers to perform before TV viewers right across the Eastern Caribbean,” said McGlothan, “and to become household names, with the chance to take the title ‘Digicel Rising Star’ with a publishing contract.”

This weekend, the first eight finalists will appear before the live audience. Each country will be looking to see what happens to their entrant as they are voted upon during the following week. Ultimately, it is the best talent that will win.
