Taiwanese envoy pays two-day visit to SVG
Special Envoy of President Chen Shui-bian of Taiwan, Hon. SU, Tseng-chang wrapped up a two-day visit to St. Vincent and the Grenadines yesterday.{{more}}
Hon. SU, Tseng-chang, who is the former premier of Taiwan, previously visited this country with President Chen in 2005.
The Special Envoy was accompanied on this trip by his wife, the Foreign Minister, Hon. James Huang, and other officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Suâs 11-person delegation was hosted at a welcome dinner on Wednesday night at the Prime Ministerâs Residence. The purpose of the visit is to strengthen the bilateral relations between Taiwan and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Su and his delegation also visited St. Lucia earlier this week, where he was President Chenâs special envoy at the funeral of Sir John Compton on Tuesday. Su will also visit Taiwanâs other Caribbean ally, St Kitts and Nevis, during this trip to the Caribbean.
