Speaking at a press conference earlier this week, Industrial Relations Officer of the St Vincent and The Grenadines Teachersâ Union (SVGTU), Denniston Douglas, said that the issue of school violence is on the increase, so the move is a positive one.
He, however, warned that if the person placed in the position deems his/her assignment as a punishment, then the school system will not get the best of the expertise that the person has to offer.
Superintendent Hackshaw has been given the responsibility to assess security in the schools, and come up with a plan of action to deal with the issue. (KJ)
