At about six oâclock last week Saturday morning, the alarm was raised that a body was floating in the Glenside area of the winding Yambou River.
The body was discovered on its back in a pool of natural and man made debris, dressed only in green shorts, tied in the waist with what appeared to be twine.
According to a police report, the bloated body is that of a bald male, five feet, eight inches tall, with no distinguishing marks.
Up to press time, a post mortem had not been carried out on the partially decomposing body.
Speculations are that the body may have washed down the river, following the heavy rains of the previous night.
The police are asking anyone with information leading to the identity of the deceased to contact the Criminal Investigation department at 457-1211, extension 222. (JJ)
