Woman wants baby daddy to pay up

Verbena Williams is pleading with the father of her two children to pay up.{{more}}

Williams, 40, of Arnos Vale claims that father of two of her four children has not paid child support since last year.

“Monday is for school and the children, are not ready. They can’t go.” The two children, a boy of eight years, and a girl, six years old, both attend primary school.

Williams took the father to court two years ago. “He started to pay but stop,” she stated. Williams was ordered to pay $100 every fortnight for maintenance of the children. He was arrested last September for failing to pay a sum of money. He currently owes almost $3,000 but cannot be found. “He seems to be difficult to find,” she stated. Williams also stated that the father has been spotted by persons, but has told them not to say where he is.

However, according to the Family Court nothing else can be done. A representative of the court told SEARCHLIGHT that arrears must be filed for outstanding payments, but if the exact location of the defendant cannot be determined there is “nothing else that can be done.” Williams is currently in the process of filing arrears.
