The station, built at a cost of over $300,000, was officially opened and blessed on Monday, as hundreds of villagers turned out at a ceremony to mark the occasion.
The opening ceremony heard addresses from Commissioner of Police Keith Miller, area representative Montgomery Daniel and Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, who all encouraged the residents to work along with the police in an effort to decrease crime in the area.
The speakers also urged the police in the area to be more proactive, fair and impartial when executing their duties.
Minister Daniel also called for the officers to increase their night patrols in an effort to decrease the problem of larceny that appears to be gripping the community. (JJ)
