Good natured citizens assist driver

What started out as an early morning trip to the airport, turned out to be a harrowing experience for an elderly driver last Saturday, and proves that there are still Good Samaritans here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.{{more}}

The driver, a resident of Edinboro, was turning out of the ET Joshua Airport on his way to Kingstown when unfortunately, he took the turn too deep and ended up in the drain just outside the airport.

Without being asked for assistance, a number of drivers and passers-by came to the aid of the driver who was visibly shaken.

After some deliberation and suggestions from other drivers who were unable to stop, the vehicle was lifted from its resting place and placed back on the road.

The thankful driver offered to pay his rescuers, but one person spoke unanimously for the others, pointing out that everyone who assisted him were all drivers, and may at some time find themselves in the same position.

After composing himself, the elderly driver took to the steering wheel and went on his way, so too did his helpers.(JJ)
