CDERA, NEMO host emergency training workshop
Key persons who will be involved in the coordination of response in the event that St.Vincent and the Grenadines is impacted by hazards or adverse events were trained in Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) Management during a three day-workshop which ends today, Friday 10th August.{{more}}
The Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) Management Training was conducted by the National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) in collaboration with the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Response Agency (CDERA), through funding from the Government of South Africa.
Director, NEMO, Howie Prince says the main objective of the workshop was âto provide the members of staff of NEMO, Sub-Committees of NEMO and EOC volunteers with the necessary skills and training to perform their duties within the EOC in the event that it is activated due to impending hazards or adverse eventsâ.
Director, Disaster Management Coordination Agency, Montserrat, Captain Horatio Tuitt was the chief facilitator for the training workshop.
