Cable & Wireless brings Sales Academy back to SVG

“A real avenue for future growth and development” is what Cable & Wireless declares their Sales Academy to be.

On August 6, 2007, the telecommunications services provider launched the academy, which will see 20 students from the Technical and Community Colleges involved in one week of intensive training in the areas of personal development, presentation skills, negotiation, ethics and business wear, customer service and sales technique. The students will also go through 8 one-hour training sessions in self-awareness and personal development.{{more}}

Following the training programme, the students will be involved in four months of competition from August 13th to November 30th.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, past participant Phalorne Cottle, who now works as a contracted sales agent for bMobile, implored this year’s participants to remember that honesty is of the utmost importance. She stated passionately that the programme is not a destination but a journey to success and accomplishment. She asked that they make the best of the Sales Academy because it is not everyday that an opportunity like this comes along.

The person who takes first place will receive not only a letter of recommendation from the CEO of Cable & Wireless, but a laptop, EC $3,000 and a paid six month contract with Cable & Wireless. The person who comes in 2nd will receive a letter of recommendation along with a cash prize of EC $2000, while the person who best exemplifies the ideals of the Sales Academy will receive a three-month mobile contract with Cable & Wireless as well as a prize.

This is the second year that Cable & Wireless will be holding the academy. The closing ceremony will be held on December 6th. (VM)
