In 2004, after a comment was made by owner of The West Spot, Nkeche Alexander about the idea of starting a business that will service his home island Union Island and the rest of St Vincent and the Grenadines, his friend, Westfield Froget, reminded him that many people enjoy wearing todayâs latest fashions at an affordable price – Alexanderâs one word reply was âPerfectâ.
Three years later, after careful planning, residents around St Vincent and the Grenadines according to a release from The West Spot, are flocking to the newest online storefront that services them specifically. The release says that the website www.thewestspot.com has attracted customers with its unique target audience: residents living on St Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada and St Lucia.
The West Spot, based in New York, teamed up with local residents in these regions to distribute customersâ orders. Back orders are shipped from New York.
In the quest to provide a great online shopping experience, The West Spot strategically allied themselves with businesses that would enable them to provide a Next Day shipment from the US to these islands after the order process is completed.
The West Spot is also in the process of using a quick payment option called Western Union Quick Pay which will allow customers to pay for their items by simply walking in any Western Union Store and paying cash for their order in East Caribbean currency.
Currently, The West Spot uses cash on delivery or COD payment options which is a transaction where the payment of products received is done at the time of actual delivery rather than paid for in advance. Thereâs also a flat Shipping/Delivery rate of $5EC.
