DJs for Heineken Green Synergy sound clash

Disc Jockeys around St Vincent and the Grenadines, who think they have got the skills to make it big, will have a chance to showcase their talent on the turntables when the St Vincent Brewery Limited presents “Heineken Green Synergy Dee Jay Competition 2007”.{{more}}

Marketing Manager of the Brewery Wayne Murphy said that they would be having five preliminary events, which start this Sunday at Argyle then continue at Rabbaca, Mt Wynne, Salt Pond, Richmond and the Aquatic Club.

At a media briefing on Tuesday at “The Lime” at Heritage Square, Murphy highlighted that there were some changes to the judging criteria. This year the music selection would attract a maximum of 25 points, crossover mixing, 20 points, technique carries 20 points, crowd response, 15 points and on-mic response, 20 points.

The winner will also have the chance to battle last year’s winner DJ Digital and win the grand prize of EC$5000 at the finals at the Aquatic Club. He also encouraged young persons over the age of eighteen to come out and support the competition and show their skills on the turntables.

The lucky winner will head to Trinidad to participate in the regional finals. Two persons from the regional leg would be selected to go to Jamaica for the finals of the Green Synergy DJ competition.

The judges in the competition are 2 KOOL Chris, DJ Tarrus and Donovan. Registration forms can be picked up at the St Vincent Brewery and also from Vance Garraway of the Brewery.
