Scholarship awardees presented with cheques
Four former primary school students on Monday received cheques from Cable and Wireless, as part of the companyâs ongoing scholarship awards programme.
The students, all girls, are headed to the Girlsâ High School, and were selected on the recommendation of the Ministry of Education. They consist of two internal and two external awardees.{{more}}
The internal awardees, students whose parents are employed with Cable and Wireless are Petran Davis, a former student of the Kingstown Prep School who is the daughter of Edward Davis and Rotasha Medford of the CW Prescod Primary School, daughter of Natasha Medford.
The external awardees are Deonte Mayers of the Stubbs Government School and Natesha James of the Lodge Village Government School.
The students placed from 6th to 31st overall in the common entrance exams.
Acting chief executive officer of Cable and Wireless Foster Hannaway, in handing over the cheques to the students, congratulated them on their achievements, and reaffirmed his companyâs commitment to education in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
To date Cable and Wireless has awarded 34 students with scholarships. (JJ)
