Vincentian Association of Cuban Trained Professionals formed

An association representing professionals trained in the Republic of Cuba has recently been formed. The Association is called The Vincentian Association of Cuban Trained Professionals (VINCUPA).{{more}}

A realease from the Association states that this association will serve as the umbrella group for professionals who graduated from universities and other higher learning institutions in the Republic of Cuba.

Further, VINCUPA will act as a collective body for and/of graduates/ professionals, and serve as an advocacy group for graduate-professional needs and address a broad range of issues. Additionally, this grouping of professionals will operate and function in such a way so that none of its activities shall discriminate against any member, individual or group of individuals on the basis of: age, socioeconomic status, disability, ethnic or national origin, gender, marital status, political orientation, race, religion, or sexual orientation.

VINCUPA is a non-profit organization which exists to share information and promote goodwill among Cuban-trained individuals, other graduates/professionals, students, and other organizations as well as among society on a whole.

Among VINCUPA’s objectives stated in the release are to provide career guidance/mentoring to scholarship holder and graduates; to foster greater unity and goodwill among professionals; to promote and build the image of Cuban Trained Professionals; to promote and build the image of Cuban Educational Institutions; to plan and cater for social activities; to create a broad base community foundation; to provide voluntary community service; to express solidarity between the people of SVG and Cuba; to promote/facilitate continuous professional development and to accomplish any other activity that promotes the mandate of the organization.
