Positive attitude achieves goals

Students of the Barrouallie Anglican School have been urged to develop a positive attitude as it will help to give them an appreciation of what they are doing and what they can achieve in life.{{more}}

Milford Samuel a former principal of the school, gave the students this advice during their prize giving and award ceremony that was held on Monday July 2 at the Barrouallie Anglican Church.

According to Samuel, if the students develop a positive attitude it will help them to achieve their goals in life. He said “You can do yourself proud, by creating for you, situations in life so that you can live happily among your citizens,” Samuel stated.

He however stated that the students alone cannot just develop good attitudes by themselves, but need the assistance from the parents, stakeholders and teachers who need to join together and be partners in education.

Parents need to be vigilant and a source of encouragement to their students by showing them what they as children can achieve and can have a bright future since they can be easily influenced at an early age whether it may be positively or negatively.

Samuel is of the opinion that teachers also have a part to play in helping the youths to develop good socializing skills and give them a good education despite the number of challenges that they are facing as teachers.

During the prize giving ceremony, the teachers and staff of the school awarded prizes to Eltha James, Merle Millington, Melford Samuel and five other past principals of the school.(SB)
