Arnos Vale youths take centre stage

Young people drawn from varying backgrounds and training will take centre stage and be the focus of a discussion dubbed ‘Thinking outside the box; developing Community and Country’ which will be held at 7.00 PM on Thursday, 12th July, 2007 at the Arnos Vale Methodist Church.{{more}}

The programme organized by the Arnos Vale Education, Sports and Culture Organisation (AVESCO) will see six young persons make 10-minute presentations on subject areas pertaining to community and nation building. They will also make five minutes deliveries on subjects supplemental to the main presentations.

The aim of the programme is to stimulate residents of the community and citizens of the country to think about and discuss matters which may impact positively on community and national development.

AVESCO will use the information raised in the discussion, to guide the formulation of its programmes and activities. Additionally, a report will be compiled reflecting the pertinent points raised, which will be presented to the National Development Plan coordinating Unit with the hope that these ideas can feed into this National development plan.
