Participants attending the Advanced Food and Beverage Service Certificate Workshop will be exposed to the practical skills and knowledge required to successfully operate a restaurant facility across the range of sectors in the hospitality industry. The Advanced Culinary Certificate programme includes complex preparation, cookery and presentation of dishes, working with a varied list of high quality ingredients, using a combination of cooking methods and menu samples of the highest standard.

The workshops are part of the SVG Hotel and Tourism Association’s Training and Human Resource Development mandate and follows on the association’s recent participation in the 2007 Taste of the Caribbean regional competition held in Miami.

The workshops’ Facilitators are Robert Smith and Donald Hacker from the Birmingham College of Food in the United Kingdom. Funding for the programme is being provided by the EU-funded Tourism Internship Exchange System (TIES), the SVG Hotel and Tourism Association, and the Barbados Hotel School.
