SVG Coast Guard’s Annual Youth Programme begins July 16
The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Coast Guard in collaboration with the National Commercial Bank and SAGICOR Life Inc will begin its Annual Youth Development Programme on Monday, July 16, 2007 at 8:30am.{{more}}
The programme will cater for 120 participants, ages 14 to 18, and will cover
subjects such as Navigation, Seamanship, First Aid, Human Sexuality, Conflict Resolution, Taking Charge of your Anger, Substance abuse and Prevention, Solid Waste Management and Fisheries Conservation.
As of this year, an additional subject will be introduced on Savings and Financial Planning for the future to be taught by a representative from the National Commercial Bank.
The programme will be conducted in three Phases: Phase one 16th-21st July, Phase two 23rd-28th July and Phase three 6th-11th August.
A handing over ceremony was held with the sponsors and press on 5th June 2007. Cheques were received in the amount of $4,000 from both sponsors to conduct the
programme.
This is the fourteen year the programme is being held. Forms can be collected from the Coast Guard Base, Calliaqua between the hours of 08:30am and 04:00pm on a first come first serve basis.
