Scotia Bank announced that it will match the total of the contributions collected in the receptacles placed in its banking halls. Spokesperson for the Bank, Sabrina Neehall stated that Mountain Top’s drive is in keeping with Scotia’s plan to support charitable organisations in St.Vincent and the Grenadines, and that they are happy to be involved in this cause.

Kenneth DaSilva, Mountain Top’s Financial Comptroller said that he was truly thrilled by Scotia Bank’s gesture, and thanked the organisation, on behalf of Mountain Top and the Salvation Army for their generous offer. He also urged the public, especially the persons visiting Scotia Bank to place “hearty” donations in the receptacles at that bank.

The Mountain Top initiated appeal was launched at the beginning of May 2007 to help raise funds for the Salvation Army School Feeding programme which has been running for the last 40 years.

In addition to the receptacles in the banking hall, there is also an account – The Salvation Army Help the Kids Account – at Scotia Bank. The account number is 105945.
