This was the word from newly elected President of the Chamber, Digicelâs OECS Public Relations Manager, Jerry George.
Speaking to SEARCHLIGHT last Wednesday from St Lucia following his election earlier in day, George said that the new executive will look again at Eustaceâs call.
Former President, Martin Bollers had issued a release stating that the Chamber did not see the cause for a shut down of the city.
George said that under his leadership the Chamber will seek to examine the decline of locally grown businesses and seek to inject a spirit of entrepreneurship in the country.
âWe will be trying to create opportunities for young entrepreneurs,â and that the emphasis of the Chamber will be on the business sector and will deal with matters as they arise.
âOur central focus will be on businesses,â said George, who said that this was the reason he was elected to the position in the Chamber of Commerce.
Also elected last Wednesday to the executive were Andrew Woodroofe and Samuel Goodluck to the posts of Senior Vice President and Vice President-Administration & Finance respectively.
Other council members are Beverly Reddock, Teloju Onu, Jethro Greene, Martin Laborde, Omri Mayers, Neville Greaves, Lennox Bowman and Dennis Gaymes.
The new executive has been elected to serve for one year. (KJ)
