Findlay-Innocent graduates Summa Cum Laude
On Saturday 19th May, Michele Findlay-Innocent graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA from Johnson and Wales University (Miami, Florida) with a Bachelors Degree in Hospitality Management and an Associate Degree in Tourism Management. At the graduation ceremony, she was presented with the Dr Christopher Del Sesto Trustee Award which recognised her contribution to student life on Campus.{{more}}
During her two years at the North Miami Campus, Michele worked at the Student Achievement Center as a tutor; she served as a peer counselor for the Travel & Tourism Program, President of the Human Resource Club, a member of the Hospitality Honors Society and the Silver Key Honors Society. Michele was also among graduates who received the âWhoâs Who Among Studentsâ in American Universities and Colleges award. This award recognises the scholastic achievement and academic excellence of students on a National level throughout the United States.
In 2004, Michele graduated from the Trinidad and Tobago Hospitality and Tourism Institute with an Associates degree in Tourism Management. There she won the BWIA award for Most Outstanding Tourism Student and the TIDCO award for Best Tourism Project.
Michele intends to return to St Vincent and the Grenadines to pursue a career in the Ministry of Tourism after attaining her Doctorate. During her years at college she worked on several projects that focused on ways of developing the Tourism Industry in St Vincent and the Grenadines. She is the daughter of Micah and Violet Findlay of Kelbourney Village. Her advice to young Vincentians is to get educated at the highest level possible and never think that any goal is too difficult to achieve.
