NDP takes protest to Bequia

People of the Bequia were vociferous in their condemnation of the Government during a protest March held last week by the New Democratic Party (NDP), a release by the NDP’s PRO Vynnette Frederick claims.{{more}}

The NDP has continued to protest the introduction of the $1 user fee at the Grenadines Terminal in Kingstown, the impact of the introduction of the Value Added Tax (VAT)system and a proposed plan to remove garbage from Canouan, to incinerate on Bequia and the “impending removal of the almond trees on the waterfront,” Frederick’s release says.

NDP president, Opposition Leader Arnhim Eustace, Dr. Godwin Friday, the Parliamentary representative for the Northern Grenadines and Senator St Clair Leacock were among the speakers at what Frederick described as a well received march and rally.
