Boy shot in Bequia

Marko Brown, a 15-year-old student of Bequia is recovering from a gun shot wound at the Male Surgical Ward of the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH).

The incident occurred around 8 am on Tuesday close to the victim’s home at Union Vale in Bequia{{more}}

The Bequia Community High School, Form two student told SEARCHLIGHT that he had left his home to meet with his father and friends when he was shot after getting into an altercation.

The bullet entered his lower left side around the kidney area and exited at his back. Brown received emergency treatment in Bequia then left for Kingstown on the 9:30 a.m. ferry.

His mother, Gaylene Brown said that she was in shock when she heard that her son had been shot. “I am very angry and I feel real bad, but thank God is nothing worse”, she said. Brown’s father Marcus Dublin also said that he is angry that his son was shot.

Everton Tannis, a 25-year-old man of Bequia is assisting police with investigations into the shooting.
