SVG delegation in Cuba

A three-member delegation has left the State on a one-week mission to the Republic of Cuba. The delegation from the Ministry of Culture is led by Culture Minister, Rene Baptiste and includes Permanent Secretary, Cuban trained graduate, Andreas Wickham and Chairman of the Carnival Development Corporation, Dennis Ambrose.{{more}}

While in Cuba, Minister Baptiste and her delegation will visit a number of cultural institutions and hold discussions with the cultural officials, cutting across several cultural and artistic disciplines. The team is also expected to negotiate for trainers to come to St. Vincent for a variety of workshops. Minister Baptiste will sign the first Cultural Co-operation Agreement with Cuba.

While in Cuba, the delegation will take the opportunity to market the Vincentian Cultural Calendar including the National Premier Cultural Festival – “Vincy Mas” which celebrates its Pearl (30th anniversary) this year.

The mission’s visit to Cuba was at the invitation of the Cuban Ambassador to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Ambassador Olga Trias.
