Sean Sutherland live
On April 4th 2007, 8pm at the Peace Memorial Hall, patrons will be treated to âTruly Classicâ performances.
Sean Sutherland, one of St. Vincentâs foremost pianists and musicians will present a piano recital comprising music of the Classical Period featuring pieces of Clementi, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert.{{more}}
Seanâs last major performance in St. Vincent was his collaboration with the Rhythmix Steel Orchestra, âIvory and Steelâ, which was well received by audiences on both evenings in October, 2005. Shortly after that, Sean migrated to Trinidad, where he currently lectures in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of the West Indiesâ St. Augustine Campus.
Notwithstanding the move, Sean still maintains his piano studio here in St. Vincent, nurturing some of St. Vincentâs finest young talent. The recital will also feature guest performances by Andrea Gaymes whose vocal renditions will be accompanied by Courtney Williams. Andrea and Courtney, both piano students of Seanâs, will present âtruly classicâ popular standards to balance off the eveningâs affair. This recital promises to be wonderful and should not be missed by any music enthusiast.
