IHS launches its Young Leaders programme
In front of a very energetic student body, guest speaker, Saboto Caesar called on the Young Leaders of the Intermediate High School to make wise choices in preparation for a fast approaching tomorrow.
And with that the 2007 Young Leaders programme of the school officially got underway on Monday.{{more}}
The Intermediate High School joins 22 other schools across the country and more in the region, in the RBTT sponsored programme under its 2007 theme âRealizing Self Worth, Your Choice, Your Destinyâ.
Throughout the year they will be involved in a number of activities which include visits to institutions around the Country, lectures, interaction and competition with other Young Leadersâ groups, and will tackle such issues as teenage pregnancy, drug abuse and HIV/AIDS.
At Mondayâs launching ceremony, invited guests from the C.W. Prescod Primary School and the St.. Josephâs Convent Kingstown heard an address delivered by group President Krystla Clarke who encouraged fellow students to think about the choices they make. The gathering was treated to cultural performances by the dance and drama groups of the School.
