C&W cricket frenzy

With Warm-Up Cricket wrapping up, Cable & Wireless, Official Sponsor of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007, is in a cricket frenzy. Twenty persons were the recipients of warm up tickets in the bMobile Valentine Promotion, where customers who purchased Motorola C139 and Siemens A76 during the month of February entered into draws for tickets.

Last week Thursday evening along with fellow local sponsors, Cable & Wireless co-hosted the “Unofficial Warm Up Match” at the Victoria Park.{{more}}

The game saw the Sponsors 11 come up against the National Lotteries Authority 11 in a 20 overs softball match, and although the outcome of the match was perhaps not in their favour, the overall outcome of the event was. The sizeable crowd at the ground was treated to many specials from the sponsors including great giveaways of cricket items, free credit for their bMobile phones and of course, lots of tickets to see the games being held here in St. Vincent.

Cable & Wireless also unveiled their Pace Master, which tested the bowling capabilities of patrons at the park. Tickets to games were won by the fastest male, female and under 15 bowler of the night. The fastest ball was bowled at 84 mph and the fastest ball bowled by a female being 73 mph. Over the next few weeks Cable & Wireless will continue with their cricket campaign, on the road at the Blues Festival this weekend and also start their work with the Union Island Easterval Committee, which runs April, 1-9 2007. This year’s Easterval festival is being held under the theme “Energizing Easterval 2007 with fun, flair, culture and talent.”
