Support coming for Lady of Guadalupe Home

For the first half of 2007 Image Modelling Agency has decided to put their focus and energies into charitable organisations and will be joining forces with them to assist in the best way possible.

The first show-stopper dubbed ‘Follow Fashion’ comes off on Sunday, February 4, 2007 at The Mariners Hotel.{{more}}

The fashion show commences at 4:00 p.m. and will feature some of St.Vincent and the Grenadines’ top designers including Kimya Glasgow Designs, Vetty’s, Patrice Fashions, Kimon Baptiste and Deb E Barbour Designs.

All proceeds from the first ‘Follow Fashion’ show will be used to assist ‘Our Lady of Guadalupe Home for Girls’. This project was initiated by the late ‘Sister Pat’. The house is located at Cane End. Funds are needed to complete the building in preparation for launching later this year.

“Fashion is what we are known for and this is what we are going to use to give support. Image is now 10 years old and we have attained this because of the tremendous support we have received from the Vincentian public. This is our way of giving back and we are hoping that by assisting one person or organisation we are able to touch and bring about change in at least one Vincentian’s life,” says Managing Director of Image, Monique Arthur-Tash.

Kay Jardine, Director of Programs for the Diocese of Kingstown, is co-ordinating the Project. She said, “Our Lady of Guadalupe Home for Girls’ would provide a safe environment for vulnerable girls between the ages of 12 and 18 years. This facility would be the first of its kind in St. Vincent and the Grenadines , providing not only safe housing, but also social and educational services for girls.

“I appreciate the effort being made by the Image Modelling Agency and look forward to their continued support,” Jardine emphasized.

Currently, the Image models are in preparation for the event around the lovely poolside of Mariners Hotel.

“What you will be seeing is mini Fashion Caribbean throughout the year. We are putting our best foot forward to showcase the lovely talents of Vincentian designers,” said Tash.

The Managing Director disclosed that Image Modelling Agency has been contracted by two overseas agencies to produce some shows in St Vincent and the Grenadines, which will bring regional press to our country and give our designers more exposure.

Tash promised that the proceeds from all shows produced by Image for the first half of 2007 will go toward charity.
