Friendship Bay provides top level training
The recruiting and training of staff at the Friendship Bay Resort Bequia has taken on a new dimension.
Without a Hospitality Training Facility in St Vincent and the Grenadines, it has become increasingly hard to find staff of a high caliber, that is not to say that there are not good people out there, but just that their chances are hindered because of the lack of a high standard of training. {{more}}
Friendship Bay Resort has taken the initiative and invested in a Training Programme for 25 people, some having been in the Hospitality Business and some just having the right attitude.
The $15 million investment at Friendship Bay will take three years to complete and will include 15 new luxury executive Villas, Swimming Pool, Marina, Water Features, and Spa Facilities among other things.
The Hotel where Bequia’s top restaurant Moskito Bar, together with Bequia’s latest popular restaurant in The Harbour Devils Table are setting the pace pushing to make Bequia a top Caribbean destination.
The decision was takento lead the way and invest in staff by bringing a Recruitment Specialist from St Lucia. The company Human Resource Connections is providing a month long training course.
“I know this will raise standards and give our staff the right tools so that they can perform to the highest level” said Mr Abrahamsson the owner of Friendship Bay Resort and Devils table Restaurant, Bequia.
All trainees will receive diplomas at the end of the course with the star performer being awarded a special prize.
This is a three year commitment to on going training in hospitality, and the endeavour by Friendship Bay Resort will not only help Bequia’s tourism but also St Vincent and the Grenadines.
