When Prime Minister of Sts Vincent and the Grenadines Dr Ralph Gonsalves addresses the forum of 116 so-called Third World countries tomorrow morning he is expected to urge the members of the movement to be “strong and steadfast” in protecting national identities as well as enhancing development and ensuring peace and security for the citizens of the nations that comprise the NAM.

Addressing the issue of globalization, Prime Minister Gonsalves is expected to point out that if properly harnessed this phenomenon can be beneficial to developing countries. On the other hand, he should also warn against the danger of marginalization of the member states if creative strategies are not devised to maximize the potential benefits of globalization.

Prime Minister Gonsalves is heading a delegation, which includes Foreign Minister Sir Louis Straker; United Nations Ambassador Margaret Ferrari; Ambassador to the Organization of American States (OAS) and the United States Ellsworth John, Ambassador to Cuba Dexter Rose.
