‘Al Qaeda suspect in Trinidad or Guyana’

The trail was hot and has now gone cold for one of the United States most wanted terrorists suspects who might be somewhere in Guyana or Trinidad and Tobago. A reward of US$5 million is available to anyone providing information which leads to his capture.

Shortly after the 9/11 attacks in the United States, the FBI has been hunting Adnan Gulshair Muhammad el Shukrijumah described as an “ultimate sleeper agent” of Al Qaeda.{{more}} Shukrijumah, the son of a Guyanese Islamic, was born in either Guyana or Saudi Arabia and spent most of his youth in Trinidad.

He is believed to be in possession of passports for both countries and may be in either.

According to an extensive article published in the Los Angeles Times Shukrijumah, a computer engineer is believed to have been hand-picked by Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the mastermind behind the September 11 attacks, “to keep the terrorist network alive in the US”.

His father was said to be linked with the mastermind behind the first World Trade Centre bombing in 1993.
