Digicel to sponsor Fashion Caribbean

Digicel has sponsored the 6th Annual Fashion Caribbean set for the weekend of September 1, to the tune of $15,000. In a short handing-over ceremony at Digicel’s Headquarters in Kingstown, Marketing Executive Juno Deroache said that her company is pleased to become Fashion Caribbean’s title sponsor. “We love to support young people who are making positive strides,” stated DeRoache. Digicel has made a committment to a three-year sponsorship of the gala event.{{more}}

As she accepted the cheque, founder of Fashion Caribbean and Manager of Image Modeling Agency, Monique Tash, expressed her gratitude to Digicel and said that she is excited about this year’s event. “It is a pleasure working with Digicel,” Tash declared as she also took the time to give some update about the upcoming ace fashion event.

Some 15 designers from around the region are set to join five local designers to showcase a variety of designs that are sure to blow patrons’ minds. Designers with international accreditation like Michelle Cole of Guyana and Calvin Southwell of Antigua are set to showcase their creations at this year’s event. Models from around the region will join their local counterparts to showcase masterpieces.

This year, Fashion Caribbean, which is officially dubbed “Digicel Fashion Caribbean ‘06”, will feature a “Market Place” where artistes and designers will display their creations to the public. The “Market Place” along with the senior show on Saturday, September 2, and the Junior show will be held at the Cruise Ship Berth on Sunday 3.
