Jamaican cultural icon dies

Jamaican cultural icon Louise Bennett-Coverly died on Wednesday, July 26, in Canada.

While a special planning committee was put together by Jamaician Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller to coordinate the funeral arrangements for her designated official funeral; a special thanksgiving service for Lou’s life was expected to be held in Toronto, Canada, yesterday, Thursday, August 3.

Lou is expected to be buried at the side of her husband.
