The Ellises who are Jamaicans are no strangers to Barbados having served there on two previous appointments. They have also given service in other Salvation Army Corps in Jamaica, the Bahamas and St. Kitts before coming to SVG. They will be fondly remembered in SVG as the officers who reintroduced into the Kingstown Corps, a Brass Band, the traditional music for which the Salvation Army is famous worldwide. They were also instrumental in building a Camp Site at Peruvian Vale and obtaining from Government a gift of a parcel of land at Buccament on which to build a home for Street Children.
Majors Henry and Pearline King, who hail from Honduras and Jamaica respectively, will replace the Ellis family.
