Carol wins Digicel trip to Rio de Janeiro

Ever since Carol Veira was a child, one of her biggest wishes was to go to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to experience their carnival festivities. And last Friday her wish was granted, She won the mother of all prizes, a trip for two to carnival in Brazil next year in February.

The winning trip came as part of a three-week Carnival promotion put on by mobile telecommunications company, Digicel. The radio stations asked carnival questions and patrons had the opportunity to text to the number 5566 with the correct answer.{{more}}

Speaking at the handing over last Wednesday at Digicel’s main offices in Kingstown, Veira told SEARCHLIGHT she was in total disbelief when she received the telephone call stating that she won. “When I got the call I could not believe my ears, I did not believe it all,” recounted Veira.

She complimented the mobile company for their outstanding work and customer service. As for who would be accompanying her on her trip, she said that she is still undecided as to who she will take with her.
