NCB assists student
The National Commercial Bank (SVG) Ltd. through its strategic focus on the Youth and Education has come to the assistance of a University of the West Indies (UWI) student to attend training in Barranquilla, Colombia from June 26 to July 27, 2006.
This annual programme is hosted jointly by the UWI, Mona and the University of Barranquilla to help English and Spanish students upgrade their oral and listening language skills as well as provide an exposure to foreign and Spanish culture.{{more}}
Kamara Foster of Green Hill, a school teacher by profession, who is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish at the Mona Campus of the University of the West Indies, was on Friday, June 16, presented with a cheque for $2,500 to assist him with airfare to attend the summer programme by Cheryl Rodriguez of the National Commercial Bank (SVG) Ltd.
Foster was excited to be able to fulfill his dream and praised the NCB for its kind consideration and continued interest in the Youth and Education in SVG.
Rodriguez informed him that the NCB was pleased to assist him and wished him an educational and enjoyable month in Barranquilla, Colombia.
