Cadougan is new head of Rotary Club of SVG

Saturday, July 1, 2006 will be a gala occasion when the president of the Rotary Club of St. Vincent, LeRoy Lewis passes the baton to incoming President Andre Cadougan.

This annual event, held under the patronage of His Excellency, Governor-General Sir Frederick Ballantyne, will see guests being entertained by the new Miss SVG, Sheridan Lewis.{{more}}

The Feature Address will be delivered b, Sir Dwight Venner, Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank.

Grenadian Sir John Watts who led the sponsorship of the first Rotary Club in St. Vincent and the Grenadines in 1971 will be specially-honoured. Sir John was also the first local District Governor of this Rotary District, which stretches from St. Kitts to Suriname.

Outgoing President LeRoy Lewis will report on a very full year of Rotary activities, one of which was the renovation of the playground at the School for Children with Special Needs in Kingstown.

Incoming President Andre Cadougan will present the projects planned for the 2006/2007 year, including the possible formation of another Rotary Club, and Rotaract and Interact clubs for younger members. AIDS awareness and the popular Rotary Village Doctor program will be featured.

Rotary International has announced “Lead the Way” as this year’s theme and the Rotary Club of St Vincent will continue its 35th year of providing “Service above Self”.
