Teachers Credit Union provides aid for member

The St.Vincent and the Grenadines Teachers Union (SVGTU) came to the assistance of one of its members who is recovering from heart surgery.

On Tuesday, June 20, the union presented EC$2,700 to Vanessa Tucker, the common-law wife of Gideon Hamilton, to assist with his medical bills.{{more}}

Hamilton’s surgery was performed in the United States in of March. The Fitz Hughes Government School teacher was left with medical bills totalling US$112,000.

Otto Sam, President of the SVGTU, said the union is pleased to assist members with problems.

He said the Teachers Union will continue to assist Hamilton so that he can return to the classroom to continue educating children.
