FirstCaribbean enhances Capital Markets team

FirstCaribbean International Bank’s Capital Markets Unit announced on Monday developments, which the release claims will “further enhance the strength of its team on the regional landscape.”

On January 1, 2006, Sharaz Ahamad was promoted to Director – Origination – Capital Markets, Southern Caribbean. Prior to joining FirstCaribbean International Bank, Sharaz worked for Citibank (Trinidad and Tobago Limited) as Manager for Product Development and Innovation for Trinidad and the wider Caribbean region.{{more}}

Ahamad holds a BSc Management Studies (First Class Honours) from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine and an MBA (Finance) from the University of the West Indies – Institute of Business.

Additionally, Robert Mohamed was hired as Director, Transaction Management & Distribution – Capital Markets and Gerard Morton as Senior Business Analyst – Capital Markets. Robert joined FirstCaribbean International Bank as Director, Transaction Management & Distribution, Capital Markets from Deutsche Bank, London (“DB”) in March 2006.

At Deutsche Bank, London, he held the position of Head of Euro Medium Term Note Origination and Transaction Management. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, London, Robert held the position of Vice President, Fixed Debt and Equity Transaction Group at Merrill-Lynch International, London, and New York for five years.

Gerard Morton joined FirstCaribbean as Senior Business Analyst, Capital Markets from Citibank (Trinidad and Tobago) Limited, in April 2006. At Citibank he held the position of Assistant Vice President- Risk Analysis Unit Head. As a Senior Risk Analyst, Gerard managed the Risk Analysis Unit, reviewed and approved transactions as a member of the Bank’s credit committee, and was instrumental in portfolio planning and management, and overall risk management of the bank.
