OECS celebrates its 25th anniversary

The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) celebrates its 25th Anniversary since the signing of the Treaty of Basseterre in 1981. To commemorate this significant milestone in our history, an Ecumenical Service of Thanksgiving will be held at the St. George’s Anglican Cathedral on Sunday 18th June 2006 at 7:00 a.m.

The theme for the Celebration is “Building True Integration, Building for Success, Youth and Community,” and the Sermon will be delivered by the Very Reverend Patrick McIntosh, Dean and Rector of the St. George’s Cathedral.

The Honourable Prime Minister and Chairman of the OECS, Dr. Ralph Gonsalves will be in attendance, and will take the salute at a March Past of uniformed organizations following the service.

The Acting Governor General, Her Excellency Mrs. Monica Dacon along with members of Government and members of the Opposition are expected to attend.
