Minister Walters blasts ‘The Da Vinci Code’

Rebuking the movie “The Da Vinci Code” which will soon be in local theatres, Minister of Ecclesiastical Affairs Selmon Walters is urging Vincentians to boycott the film.

Walters, who was at the Spiritual Baptist 55th anniversary convention at the Victoria Park on Sunday, May 21, admitted that he had read the book which he described as blasphemous. {{more}}

He pointed out that the author Dan Brown described Jesus as a mortal man who was married to Mary Madeline and had children with her.

He revealed, “I have read the book and it also claims that when Jesus was crucified, his children were shipped off to Africa and that he had many other wives.”

The Ecclesiastical Affairs Minister stressed that if the book was about the Muslim faith or any other sect, their followers would be up in arms protesting, but Christians who claim to love Jesus have been silent about the blasphemous way Christ has been portrayed.

Walters pleaded with Christians to become real ambassadors for Christ by defending his name.
