Convent presented with new tape recorder

The St. Joseph’s Convent Kingstown was the recipient of a brand new, top of the line tape recorder donated by the Association of Teachers of French last Thursday, May 18.

President of the Association, Abigail Providence told the SEARCHLIGHT that the Association received $8,000 from the French mission in St. Lucia. Some of the money was used to purchase tape recorders for schools that teach French throughout St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Providence also mentioned that some of the money was used to host a workshop for teachers of French.

So far 14 schools have received the tapes and the balance of the money will go towards facilitating workshops for teachers of French.
